Awakening by Ralph Reed

Is there any hope for America?

Ralph Reed believes America is on the verge of a new spiritual awakening!

Ralph Reed’s new book, Awakening, shares his belief that America can come back to its original spiritual glory!  Drawing on powerful instances from history when nations recovered from serious moral and economic decline, Reed urges readers to take action.  As the 2014 election cycle approaches, Awakening is a timely plea for people of faith to spark a spiritual and moral awakening that will reverse the cycle of destruction, renew our country, and see God heal our land.

Ralph Reed’s New Book, Awakening, Offers Plan to
Rescue America from Moral, Economic, and Political Destruction

With a president who opposes Israel, forces citizens to fund abortions, and
supports anti-family legislation, is there any hope for America?

Nashville, Tenn., January 22, 2014—Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, believes that in spite of America’s recent turn toward becoming a second-rate power, the nation could be on the edge of a great moral reversal.

In his latest book, Awakening (Worthy Publishing, March 2014), Reed says: “America is rife with the warning signs of a country in decline. Human trafficking, legalized gambling, divorce, drug use, and abortion are rampant. President Obama’s domestic policy is outright hostile to religion.” According to Reed, “Obama’s international policies do little to protect Christians from terror around the world. In addition, he is the first U.S. president to openly support gay marriage while in office. How can anyone be hopeful that America’s best days are still to come?” His answer: It is not too late—as long as faithful Americans act now.

Drawing on powerful instances from history when nations recovered from serious moral and economic decline, Reed urges readers to take action, standing firm for the values that have made the United States the envy of the world for two centuries. In fact, Reed believes America could be on the cusp of a great awakening spiritually, morally, and politically if the faithful will pray, repent, be civic-minded, and refuse to give up.

Reed states, “We need leaders who say what they mean, do what they say, and whose rhetoric provides a road map for how they will lead.” He also urges that Americans need to band together and live with integrity, upholding the founding principles of the United States.

Dr. Ralph Reed is the founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. He was senior advisor to the Bush-Cheney campaigns in both 2000 and 2004 and chairman of the Southeast Region for Bush-Cheney ’04. As chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, he led the GOP to its biggest victory in history, helping elect the state’s first Republican governor and third U.S. senator since Reconstruction. Reed is chairman and CEO of Century Strategies, LLC, a public relations and public affairs firm. As executive director of the Christian Coalition from 1989 to 1997, he built one of the most effective public policy organizations in recent history. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

10 Minute Solution: Butt Lift DVD Review

New 10 Minute Solution: Butt Lift DVD provides quick workouts for a bodacious behind.  I love this DVD.  I have done all of the workouts separately and one day I did them all 5 together.  The DVD has 5 complete 10 minute routines.  Rear view rescue starts now with the newest release from the best selling 10 Minute Solution DVD series.  This workout DVD delivers five fun, creative and effective approaches to getting a booty that defies gravity.  No need to go south of the equator, or even leave your own home.  These mini workouts are geared to fit your busy lifestyle with just 10 minutes at a time.  Whether you prefer heart thumping cardio or Pilates infused matwork, Los Angeles based fitness expert Christine Bullock has put it all together into one jiggle busting DVD.  There is even a bonus abdominal workout.  This new DVD is already available in stores and on Amazon.com for a suggested retail rate of $14.98.

Christine Bullock's inventive workouts include:

Butt Lift - Standing and floor moves that target the glutes, hamstrings and lower back.  This one is fun and the time flies as you get that back side firm and lifted.

Cardio Booty Camp - Jump, squat and kick that rear view training into high gear to blast calories and solidify those assets.  This is fun.  I am not really a huge fan of cardio but 10 minute is totally doable.  I enjoy this one a lot.

Upright Booty - This is an all-standing workout designed to lift those buns as high as they'll go.  I find this one challenging.  I have a hard time balancing but I am able to complete it and I feel it working almost immediately upon completion.  Each time I get better.

Butt & Thighs - Graceful ballet, yoga and Pilates inspired moves fuse together to shape a sexy backside and sleek sculpted legs.  This one really gets my thighs sore but it's worth it!

HIIT Butt Lift - Torch calories and tone with super charges Tabata style intervals.  Very intense section that is fun and it works.

Amazing Abs - Sculpt a sexy midsection with moves that attack from all angles.  Great little add on, I always need an ab workout!

No equipment needed for this total tush transformation.

Christine Bullock has certifications in Pilates, yoga and Barre.  She teaches group fitness including TRX and HIIT at Equinox, Yoga Works and Studio Pilates, all in the Los Angeles area.  Bullock is also certified as a nutrition and wellness counselor.  She is a former ballerina with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, an experienced fitness model and a write and lifestyle host.

Chex Tropical Party Mix Recipe

Chex Tropical Party Mix Recipe

I was sent the new Tropicall Chex Party Mix to try and wasn't sure how it would turn out. I used the orange juice instead of the pineapple juice and my crew loves nuts so I added pecans to the mix also. I ended up using the whole box of Chex Cereal because I was afraid it wouldn't get used if I left some in the box. So, I did add a little more liquid and sugar also just to make sure it came out right. I was pleasantly shocked when everyone on Christmas Eve tasted the Party Mix and really LOVED IT! I was holding my breath because some in the crowd don't like coconut and some don't like Orange Juice so I didn't say what was in it and was going to tell them after they tasted it. They were all shocked to learn that things that they...Read More

Cathe Friedrich's Flex Train DVD Review

Flex Train is a non-stop, total body strength and toning workout that mixes metabolic training with high-rep strength training.  It uses minimal equipment to unleash your strength, endurance, and sculpted muscles.  I am certain that this will quickly become one of your favorite go-to workouts when you are looking to rev up your metabolism and build muscular strength and endurance in a creative, low-impact, high-energy way.

This DVD includes a Warm Up - 7:14, the main Workout - 44.36, and the Stretch - 4:46 for a Total - 56:36 minutes.  There are three ways to listen to Party Rockin Step 1 Music!  Which is just another way that their DVDs give you more value for your money!  With their new Triple Tracks Audio they have added a third track of instrumental music.  So, you can listen to your Party Rockin Step 1 DVD in three different ways: Vocals only, Normal, and Instrumental music.  Triple Tracks Audio lets you enjoy your Cathe DVDs in different ways.

This workout is difficult.  She uses hand weights, gliders, a long exercise band and a stretch band.  Also a mat for the ground work.  The dumbbells she uses are 8, 10 and 25 pounds.  I used 5 and 8 lbs.  I might get out the 15 pounders next time I do this workout.  I was drenched in sweat and out of breath.  I enjoy this workout.  I can't wait to do it again.  Cathe Friedrich is a terrific instructor and she does a wonderful job giving the cues.  I love the music too, it's motivational and keeps me moving at a fast pace.

Walk On Strength & Balance with Jessica Smith DVD Review

Jessica Smith is one of my favorite workout instructors.  I was super excited when I got a package from Total Fitness DVDs with this DVD to review.  Walk on with Jessica Smith Strength & Balance includes two workout walks.  The first is Stride and Strength and then the Barefoot Fusion Walk.  Each workout is thirty minutes which is perfect for those days when you don't have a lot of time to workout.  I really enjoy this DVD and can't wait to do each of the workouts again.  I find the Stride and Strength to be a bit challenging but fun.  The Fusion Walk is more low impact and energizing.  It's a nice fun routine.

Walking is fantastic exercise, especially when coupled with other types of training.  This walking based program incorporates weight lifting, high intensity cardio intervals, and endurance training to help you stay strong, slim and stress free.

Stride and Strength (30 Minutes) - A half hour is all you need to burn fat and build metabolism boosting lean muscle mass with this two in one session!  Burn more calories in less time with this maximum results routine that couples HIIT (high intensity interval) cardio training with circuits of strength exercises to make every second of your wokrout count.   A set of light dumbbells (2-8 pounds depending on level) is recommended but not required.

Fusion Walk (30 Minutes) - Balance your body with this flowing, feel good endurance focused walk that fuses together movements from dance, kickboxing and Pilates.  This walk is done barefoot (shoes may be worn if preferred) in order to fully engage and strengthen the muscles of the feet and ankles.

I highly suggest you get this DVD and get started with Jessica Smith Walk On.  These are two fun walk workouts for any level exerciser.

Gosh, kale , right? This leafy green really skyrocketed into super-stardom over the last few years, to the point where some people need to ask whether or not it's time we cool it a little . Do you hear that guys? You're smothering kale. From kale salads to kale chips to kale juice , kale really seems to be everyone's leafy green of choice. We don't mean to be alarmists, but what if, when we woke up tomorrow, there was no more kale left on earth? If your pulse just quickened and you...Read More

Our #DISNEYSIDE Celebration

We were so excited when our #DISNEYSIDE package arrived.  The first thing we did after we dragged it in the house was rip open the box and examine all the fun goodies we got to use for our #DISNEYSIDE celebration.  This box was full of so many fun and nice things.  The first thing we saw was a suitcase.  This suitcase is high quality, light weight and perfect for our little short family trips.  Inside the suitcase was all the supplies.  The supplies were totally awesome.  I have included some pictures below so you can see everything we got to party with.

Here are a couple recipes we we enjoyed:

Frozen Pineapple Whip
Ingredients:
• 2 cups frozen pineapple
• 1/4 cup milk of choice
• 1/16 tsp salt
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions:
1. Blend all the ingredients until smooth
2. Scoop out with ice cream scoop into small cups
3. Freeze for 20 minutes before serving

Your Disney Side Trail Mix Bar
Ingredients:
• Mini pretzels
• Mini fish-shaped crackers
• Small chocolate candies
• Raisins
• Craisins
• Small cheese crackers
• Peanuts
• Yogurt covered pretzels
• Popcorn
• Mini marshmallows
• Cashews
• Wasabi Peas
• Peanut Butter chips
• Garlic powder and other seasonings
Instructions:
1. Put ingredients in individual bowls
2. Encourage guests to create their own party mixes
with their favorite ingredients
3. Enjoy!

 Some fun activities we played:
Who Am I?
Supplies:
• Pen
• Stick-on Labels
Instructions:
1. Before the party, pick one Disney character or attraction for each person playing. Don’t let any of the guests see the
characters or attractions until the game starts.
2. Stick one label on each person’s back. Do not allow them to see what it is before you put it on them.
3. Tell everyone the rules. Each person gets 20 “yes or no” questions to find out who or what they are.
4. The players have to roam around the room to ask other people the questions.
5. Whoever guesses correctly first wins the game!

Catch The Lion King
Supplies:
• Yellow fabric “tail”
Instructions:
1. Kids sit in a circle on the floor. One party goer, the lion, tucks a homemade tail (a yellow piece of fabric with a knot in
one end) into their waistband
2. The lion begins circling the group, touching each child on the head and saying “Lion.” When the lion decides they want
some action, they touch a player on the head and shouts “Hyena!”
3. The lion must then dash around the circle and take the hyena’s spot before the hyena can grab the lion’s tail.
4. If his tail is snatched, he remains the lion; if he sits where the hyena was without losing his tail, the hyena becomes the new lion
