Tracy Anderson Method: Mat Workout Review & Giveaway Ends 10/04/12 at 7 PM EST


 
Collage Video sent me Tracy Anderson Method: Mat Workout to review and they have also offered to send a copy to a winner from my blog.  Collage Video has an awesome website with great descriptions of their workout DVDs and customer reviews too.  They also have clips from the DVD so you can check the video out before you make the purchase.  

Certified instructor description: A fluid series of ballet and modern dance-style exercises (mostly standing, not matwork). It's a free-flowing program that encourages you to just move with music. There's not much distracting cuing — instead, Tracy asks you to "simply watch me and do what I do." The standing segment has three distinct sections: legs, abs and arms. Each one begins with the larger muscles and then proceeds to the smaller "accessory" muscles. They're high-rep exercises that work your body in multiple planes and angles (fast-paced versions of classics like arabesques, shoulder rotations and rib isolations). The floorwork also targets your legs and abs with fitness-style moves like crunches and leg lifts. Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2012. DVD has: Wide screen.

This is the first Tracy Anderson workout that I have done.  I have heard amazing things about her and couldn't wait to try it out for myself.  This morning I popped the DVD and got started.  I didn't know what to expect but with the name mat workout I thought I would be lying down most of the time.  This is not the case.  There is a segment at the end that is done lying down but most of the DVD is done standing up. 

This workout is quite a challenge for me and I know that my entire body is going to sore tomorrow.  Sore is a good thing!  That means my muscles are getting stronger and they are going to be better looking!

The DVD starts with a 6 minute warm up which really gets you warmed up and quick.  Then it goes right into the 34 minutes of standing toning.  After that you do 12 minutes of lying down toning and then the cool down stretch for a total of 56 minutes of workout.  I highly recommend this DVD to anyone working on getting their entire body in shape and looking great!
