About All Is Lost

Academy Award® winner Robert Redford stars in All Is Lost, an open-water thriller about one man’s battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.
Written and directed by Academy Award nominee J.C. Chandor (Margin Call) with a musical score by Alex Ebert (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros), All Is Lost is a gripping, visceral and powerfully moving tribute to ingenuity and resilience.

2 months ago I was broad sided by another car and my car rolled 3 times. It landed on it's side and I was hanging almost upside down by the seat belt. I was so terrified. The fire department was there with the jaws of life to get me out. It took over 30 minutes. I just screamed and screamed for my husband. I am by the grace of God fine and have no lasting effects from the accident.

I hydroplaned on the 57 freeway near the Angel Stadium here in SoCal about 15 years ago, during an amazing downpour. It was a really strange experience since I had no control over the car at all. All I could do was wait for the car to lose speed and come to a stop and hope that no one would hit me once I was stopped. I'm sure it only lasted a few seconds but it seemed to take forever. I ended up hitting a college kid's truck, not badly at all on his bumper, and it bounced me towards the center divider so I came to a stop out of traffic. It could have been so much worse.

Thanks for the giveaway…no episode in my life as dramatic or dire as that depicted in the movie, but I did run out of gas in the middle of the desert one night, and have to walk about 10 miles to the nearest phone for help (pre- cell phone days !).

I thought All Was Lost when I was at summer camp one year and got lost when I left the cabin to use the restroom in the middle of the night and could not find my way back

Yes, once when I was in what could have been a really bad car accident. The second was when I was dying before my diagnosis of Graves disease.

i survived a pretty bad childhood and i promised myself that if I made it through alive, I'd enjoy life and love those around me. And I kept that promise.
