Gnu Foods Review

Gnu Foods sent me a case of their bars to sample and review.  I had never tried these before and was really pleasantly surprised.  I enjoyed the flavor & fiber combination.  Gnu Foods was introduced in 2004.  They are dedicated to making food that works.  Gnu bars help with weight management, support health and promote regularity.  They have 7 delicious flavors.  I tried the Cinnamon Raisin first.  I had it for breakfast with a cup of coffee.  It was very filling and I was truly full after eating it.  I did not get hungry again for at least three hours.  I couldn't wait to try the Chocolate Brownie bar next.  I have to be honest and tell you that this was my least favorite.  I enjoyed it but not as much as I enjoyed the other flavors.

If you want to know where you can buy Gnu Foods near you just go to their store finder here.  They sell them at a store near me and I'm sure they are sold near you all as well.  I really recommend that you try these.  They are good tasting and healthy.  It's a nice way to start your day or a great snack. 

My family and I enjoyed each of the flavors.  Even though the chocolate brownie wasn't my favorite, it was my husband's favorite.  These bars are entirely natural and great for your heart health as well.  They are a wonderful addition to a well balanced diet.

Review:

Country Cupboard Cookies sent two dozen cookies for me to try and review.  The Signature Holiday Cookies came in a very nice box with a beautiful ribbon on it.  As soon as the package arrived, I ripped the outer box open to find the most beautiful box full of amazing cookies.  I noticed the gingerbread cookies first and then the vanilla cookies and the peanut butter cookies.  All together there were 12 packages of 2 cookies each inside the box. 

Doesn't that look delicious?  I tried the chocolate chip cookies first.  I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of chocolate chips in these cookies.  Each bite is full of chocolate chips.  They are soft and fresh and wonderful!  Country Cupboard Cookies are baked from scratch in small batches without any preservatives.  I have really enjoyed each of the cookies that I have personally tasted.  I have tried the snickerdoodle, old fashioned vanilla, peanut butter chocolate chip and orange cranberry pecan.  Each of these is so very good.  They are good sized cookies.  One cookie is very filling the perfect serving size.  If you would like to enter the same box that I received just enter the giveaway below.

My whole family has enjoyed each of the items in the gift basket.  They are all quality products that taste delicious.  The Metropolitan Trail Mix was another family favorite as well as the Buttered Peanut Crunch.  We finished the basket off within a few days.  The pretzels were the last to go, but we always have pretzels on hand so they weren't as much of a novelty as the rest of the items in the gift basket.  The pretzels were really good though, we loved them, especially using the dip with them.  They were amazing!

Tips for Spreading Holiday Cheer

With the holidays just around the corner, I have come up with some tips for spreading holiday cheer to share with you my readers.  I know it's hard to stay cheerful when you are are so busy, but the holidays are meant for fun and good memories.  We are all very busy and sometimes it may seem like we have too many things to do in too few hours so maybe my tips will help you stay cool, calm and collected.

1.  Make a list - write down what you must accomplish and when you need to have it finished.  I like to organize the list by importance, that way if I do not get to the end of the list the most important things are completed.

2.  Get your shopping done early - I never want to be shopping on Christmas Eve with all the other last minute shoppers, so I get my shopping done as soon as I can.  It's good to start early in the year but if you haven't started yet get your shopping done soon so you can beat the crowds.

3.  Prepare as much food ahead of time as possible - many items can be prepared the night before the big day.  I like to have the cranberry bread and desserts baked in advance so I can take those off my list on the actual day of celebration.

4.  Clean, organize and decorate in advance - you do not want to be cleaning on the day when you are expecting company.   Get it done the weekend before or a few days ahead of time.  It's much easier and less stressful when you are prepared for the relatives before they arrive.

5.  Get the whole family involved - you can not do everything by yourself.  Make a chore chart and delegate the chores to your family members who are able to help.  You are not superwoman do not take on too much and get overwhelmed.

These are simple things that help me spread holiday cheer.  I know you have felt overwhelmed during the holidays like I have and we can do as much as possible to keep it light and enjoyable for everyone, including ourselves.

Peanut Butter Baking Mix Assortment Review and Giveaway Ends 11/24/11 at 7 PM EST

Review:

Peanut Butter & Co sent me the Baking Mix Assortment to review and they have also offered one for me to giveaway.  I used the long weekend to bake the three items so that I can give you a review.  The assortment includes peanut butter cookies, chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and peanut butter brownies.  First I baked the cupcakes.  I followed the instructions on the box and the cupcakes themselves turned out great.  I messed up with the frosting and didn't follow the instructions correctly.  I poured all the milk in instead of adding it a bit at the time the way the instructions stated.  So the frosting was too runny.  We ended up eating the cupcakes without the frosting on them.  But it tasted great and if I had followed the directions I am sure it would have been amazing.
