Back in 1987, they realized that back-of-the-package video descriptions — and friends’ suggestions — just didn’t get us videos that were right for OUR situation.
So they decided there had to be a better way — search out the best videos and describe them honestly. So they printed the first-ever exercise video catalog. Since then we’ve helped over one million people reach their fitness goals.
25 years later, they’re still here and still family-owned ... all because of their loyal (and in-shape!) customers.
Denise Austin's Shape Up & Shed Pounds is the first DVD that I did to review. The DVD has two parts. The first is floor aerobics and the second is toning. I am just starting to exercise again after many years of being immobile. I chose this DVD because I have always loved Denise Austin and I am a beginner looking to shape up and shed pounds.
The first section really got my heart rate up and kept it there. I enjoyed the latin style moves and it felt like dancing more than working out. I love how upbeat and positive Denise is throughout the video. The moves aren't too hard to get, even for me, and I am not very coordinated. I have only done this DVD one time but I feel good about it and can't wait to do it again.
The second portion of the video is toning. I love how no equipment is required. You use your own body for resistance. The stretching feels good and the toning exercises are really going to get me in shape. I feel energized and ready to go after completing this workout. I am very pleased with how easy it is but challenging at the same time. I haven't mastered it yet, I have only done it one time. It will take me a few weeks to get it down but I enjoy learning and participating as well as I can.
