I received the Dance off the Inches Hip Hop Body Blast DVD to review from Anchor Bay Entertainment.  They have offered one for me to giveaway as well.  I really enjoyed this dvd.  It felt more like dancing than working out.  I can't wait to do this workout again.  I will need to do it a few more times to feel like I have the moves down.  But learning the moves is really fun.  I am not a dancer by nature but I enjoy learning to move and melt off the pounds.

Custom 3 Fit Fitness DVD's Review & Giveaway Ends 1/30/12 at 7 PM EST

Custom3 Fit sent me two DVD's to review and they have offered the same DVD's to giveaway.  I am just getting started with working out.  Angie was very nice and told me that the 50/50 DVD would be best to start with so that's what I did.

50/50 Cardio & Weights:
Angie Gorr is a certified group fitness instructor. She has struggled with both back pain and thyroid issues for much of her life. Having a full-time career at a desk-bound job, Angie has made exercise a critical part of her everyday routine. Time is precious for everyone! The participants in this video are REAL PEOPLE with full-time careers of their own and hectic daily schedules.
About the Video:
The program includes 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. Each cardio and weight section is further broken up into smaller sub-sections so you can easily focus on specific target areas when you're pressed for time.

Beginner:
  • Level 1 will show joint-friendly and low-impact moves
  • Can work out at your own pace, while still getting that heart-rate up!
  • 2-second transition screens between each exercise are a great place to take breaks if you need them!
  • Exercises avoid twisting motions, to further lower the risk of injury
Advanced:
  • Level 3 is extremely intense!
  • Look forward to Frog-Jumps, Jumping-Squats, High-Kicks, and more!
  • Burn maximum calories by working both upper and lower body at once!
  • Increase difficulty by increasing speed, range of motion, and using heavier weights! 

I love that I can choose the level that I need for my fitness capabilities. I am just a beginner. I really enjoyed this dvd and felt like it was a wonderful workout. I am working on getting my inner athlete to come out. The more I do and learn that I am capable of doing the better. This DVD was challenging for me but I enjoyed it thoroughly.  Level 1 is perfect if you are a beginner like me.  The more we do the workout the stronger we will get and before we know it we will be at a level 3.

Cardio & Strength Interval Circuit:
We all know that exercise is vital in order to reach our health and fitness goals, but we can supercharge our exercise program and attain those goals even faster by incorporating interval training! This calorie blasting workout is comprised of 3 (20 min) circuit intervals, that allow you to focus on cardio, weight-training and abs. Each containing fun, easy-to-follow, unique moves that will build your cardio endurance, strengthen/tone every major muscle group, and sculpt those sexy abs we all want! Interval training means alternating between high intensity and low intensity/recovery periods, allowing your heart rate to increase and decrease throughout the workout. The weight-training portion varies for each circuit so that you target every major muscle group and work your full body. Some benefits of interval training may include*:
  • Increased cardiovascular efficiency
  • Improves overall fitness levels (strength and endurance)
  • Boosted metabosism resulting in more effective fat burning
  • Helps build a stronger immune system
  • Decreased risk of high blood pressure
As part of the Custom 3 Fit series, this workout is entirely customizable to suit your current fitness level and time constraints.
  • Beginner: Level 1 consists of low impact moves, but will still get your heart pumping!
  • Intermediate: Higher impact moves for the intermediate exerciser
  • Advanced: A challenge for even the most avid athlete, includes plyometric moves and heavier weights
 This DVD was also challenging for me.  Level 1 got my heart pumping.  It was hard to complete.  I really enjoyed both DVD's.  I look forward to using these DVD's again in the future and building strength and endurance.

Collage Video - Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition Workout DVD Review & Giveaway

Collage Video has an amazing selection of exercise videos.  I received Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition Workout to review and they have also offered one to giveaway.  I tried the dvd this morning and it was very simple to do.  I am totally amazed at how easy it seemed and then how sore I am now.  This workout is amazing.  I have only done the first 2 parts.  I hope to do the 3rd part later this week.
Certified instructor description: Three non-intimidating weight-loss workouts led by a very supportive instructor. You'll be exercising with contestants from the hit TV show — "real people" who have already lost up to 200 pounds (but are still overweight, and enthusiastically working to slim down a little more). Everything is designed for the novice exerciser. The first workout is an anyone-can-do-it toning series. The second program adds some simple aerobics while the third workout is slightly more challenging. The sequencing within each workout is also beginner-friendly -- you'll start with basic moves and then confidently advance to more challenging variations. Chris Powell includes level options and lots of understanding encouragement ("just work at your own pace"). ©2011. DVD has: Music only option, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

This is really a non intimidating workout.  It's highly effective for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose and are new to working out.  I will use this DVD on a regular basis to get stronger and smaller.

Anchor Bay Entertainment - 10 Minute Solution: Pilates on the Ball Review & Giveaway

The next dvd from Anchor Bay Entertainment that I am reviewing is 10 Minute Solution: Pilates on the Ball.  I did this workout this morning.  Like all the 10 Minute Solution dvds you can choose some of the segments or all of them.  I set it up to do three of the five segments.  I chose the Total Body Pilates, Upper Body Pilates and Pilates for Flexibility segments for my morning workout.  Each of these workouts was really challenging for me.  I am a beginner and I did my best to keep up.  I am sore from past workouts and not as flexible as usual but I am feeling stronger and able to do more and more. 
10 MINUTE SOLUTION: PILATES ON THE BALL

Here are the descriptions of the segments included.  I love how you can use the dvd menu to select them in any order as many or as few as you would like.
PILATES FOR ABS This segment will tone and cinch all the muscles in your waistline. The ball adds extra core work to each exercise to deliver maximum benefits. 
LOWER BODY PILATES This series will virtually melt inches off your hips, buns and thighs with dynamic exercises that engage and firm all the muscles in your lower body. 
UPPER BODY PILATES Sculpt sleek arms and shoulders, plus a sexy back with these highly effective, targeted ball exercises. 
PILATES FOR FLEXIBILITY Stretch your body and calm your mind with this section. A perfect way to start the day or end a great workout, this segment uses the ball to elongate your muscles from head to toe. 
TOTAL BODY PILATES Become firmer and leaner all over. Instructor Lara Hudson has designed a series of non-stop, flowing exercises on the ball for this intense calorie-burning, body sculpting workout. A fitness ball is recommended for this workout.
