Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company proudly relaunched its website today. Still under the address of www.rnh.com, in use since the company’s first site was launched in 1997, the newest R&H website is faster, more expansive, more user-friendly, more customer-oriented, and loaded with more new features than ever before.
In honor of the launch, rnh.com is featuring – for a limited time only – a special video segment of behind-the-scenes home movies taken during the making of THE SOUND OF MUSIC in Salzburg, Summer 1964. This never-before-seen footage was provided to R&H by the 7 movie “kids” whose autobiographical collectibles book, THE SOUND OF MUSIC FAMILY SCRAPBOOK , will be released in October. Watch the never-before-seen footage here.
Highlights of the new R&H website:
· Fans will find it easily navigable for photos, videos, music, history and trivia on their favorite Broadway and Hollywood musicals;
· …learn about what’s playing in their area from our vast database of musical titles;
· …join the R&H on-line community and connect with other theater fans in the Fan Forum;
· …find favorite cast albums, sheet music, books, DVDs, Blu-rays and more at the new R&H shop.
· Customers of R&H Theatricals can now manage their accounts on line;
· …track packages and receive Real Time updates;
· …join our new Costume & Set Rental Forum;
· …connect with Fans in the R&H Community and Forum pages;
· …find product for their theaters in our new on-line shop.
The site will be a place for fans to find information about our musicals that they simply will not find anywhere else. We couldn’t launch our site with a more exciting demonstration of this than with the montage of home movie footage taken on location for THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
Charmian Carr, Nicholas Hammond, Heather Menzies, Duane Chase, Angela Cartwright, Debbie Turner and Kym Karath are seven extraordinary adults leading extraordinary lives, but they all shared a remarkable experience 47 summers ago that still resonates. Cast from a worldwide search as the children of Captain von Trapp, working with such screen legends as Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, the seven junior members of this screen family became, over time, a real family.
While they were making THE SOUND OF MUSIC, home movie cameras captured unforgettable and unguarded moments. The sequence available exclusively at www.rnh.com is only the tip of the Alp. More movie footage, plus rare photographs, mementoes and memories will be laden throughout THE SOUND OF MUSIC FAMILY SCRAPBOOK, coming from Carlton Books in October 2011. For more on the book visit:
