Tastes From Home Recipe & Givewaway Ends 8/18/11 at 7 PM EST

I would like to share with you a recipe that reminds me of being back at home.  I grew up in Ocala, FL and we had a fairly large family.  So we always had meals for a large group of people.  One recipe that I have always loved is my Mom's Frito Casserole.  I am going to share her recipe with you, it's not original, I'm sure someone along the way gave it to her.  We have enjoyed this casserole as a family for years.


Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 cups Fritos corn chips or 1 1/2 cups other corn chips
• 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
• 1 (16 ounce) can chili with beans
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 carton sour cream
• taco sauce

Directions:

1. Mix Ground Beef with Chili.
2. Layer in 9x13 Pan: Fritos, Meat/Chili Mixture, Cheddar Cheese.
3. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
4. Top with taco sauce, sour cream, and fritos to taste when serving.

This is a great dish to serve at football games and at other fun events.  Everyone in the family loves to eat Frito Casserole.  It's easy to prepare and tastes great.

Frito-Lay has created several new, regionally inspired chips made with all natural ingredients.

I can't wait to try them all, but I am most looking forward to trying the Chipotle Ranch and the Tangy Carolina BBQ sounds good too.

Review

I received a case of Mediterranean Baked Lentil Chips to sample and review.  I actually won them on facebook, but I wanted to review them so I asked if that would be alright and they agreed.  I received 12 bags, 2 of each flavor.  These went over really well in our house and at my work.  I shared because it was a lot of chips.  We enjoyed these with hummus, cheese, dip, and plain.  Here are the flavors we tried:

My favorite are the parmesan garlic.  I loved these.  I really enjoyed each of the flavors.  I am truly glad to have been given the oppotunity to try these lentil chips.  Everyone at work and home who tried these loved them as well.  I highly recommend these chips.
